Best Times to Visit

When to play, region by region

Cape Town & Garden Route

October - May & March - May

Cape Town is known for the Cape Doctor, a strong south-easterly that blows hardest in November, December and January. A wonderful destination for year-end golfing holidays but the sweet spot is March to May, when the wind dies down and the weather cools.

Johannesburg

Feb - May & Sep - Nov

A year-round golfing destination with calm conditions and minimal wind. During the summer months (November - February), afternoon thunderstorms are common, so morning tee times are recommended.

KwaZulu-Natal

Mar - May & Sep - Nov

A summer-rainfall region, wettest from December to February. Spring and autumn bring mild 20 - 28°C days, less rain, fewer crowds, and consistently comfortable golfing conditions.
